The "road less traveled by" is the one with that goes uphill, through thorn and thistle and mile-long switchbacks. You come out having conquered the natural man and on top of a mountain. You can look down and see what you've been through and can appreciate it because you realize that without it, you could never be the person you are now. I think that's what life is about -- conquering our carnal desire to take the easy road; instead, choosing the higher road, fighting the climb to get closer to our proud and smiling Father. It's easy to eat when you're hungry, to be offended when someone hurts you, to have sex when you're aroused, to get drunk/high when you're broken or confused about life. But what if you fasted for a day? What if you smiled at your enemies? What if you saved that sacred part of yourself for the one to whom you have made vows? What if you allowed yourself to feel, deal, and grow from pain and change? Do you think you would be a better person? The answer is yes.
